LCM was incorporated in 1997. Its founder, Richard Treadwell, started in the insurance industry in 1970 and since 1985, has specialised in employers’ liability and third party claims arising in the energy industry, both onshore and offshore. He has been the named adjuster on a number of marine employers’ liability policies.

Whilst LCM’s main client base is in the energy field, we investigate and handle all types of liability claims, including motor and goods in transit.

There is no doubt that early investigation and intervention reduces costs, enables alternative approaches to settlements and best prepares potential defendants if litigation is unavoidable. We lose no time in finding out the facts – whether you are self insured or have a self insured retention, the sooner liability can be assessed, the better placed you and your insurers will be. As a free service to clients, we offer training and assistance with accident investigation and incident reporting. We work with our principals to ensure that they are fully aware of obligations within the civil litigation system and how to avoid pitfalls.

LCM has considerable experience of investigating accidents and handling claims in the Far East, the Middle East, Africa and many European countries including Poland, Hungary, Spain Croatia, Bosnia and The Netherlands. We have also handled many "Jones' Act" claims and have managed litigation and participated in mediations Texas and Louisiana.

The vast majority of claims settle without litigation, let alone trial. However, if suit is filed, we are well placed to instruct the right lawyer and manage the litigation in order to ensure the best available outcome in the most economical way.

MEDICAL REPATRIATION

Through our friends at Heathrow Air Ambulance (www.heathrowairambulance.com), we can arrange and manage medical repatriations from practically anywhere to anywhere in the world.

We charge a fixed hourly rate, which includes telephone and mail expenses. The same rate applies for most places we are asked to go, regardless of the potential size of the claim. We strive to keep travel and accommodation costs to a minimum and wherever we can, we will share expenses between clients. All invoices are accompanied by a detailed narrative of work and documentary support of expenses. Clients may choose to be invoiced in GB Pounds, US Dollars or Euros. We bill quarterly unless otherwise requested.
